Las Vegas is a city that is full of a large variety of restaurants. No matter what you are looking for you are guaranteed to find it in Vegas. Our recent stay at the New York New York hotel and casino made me discover some great new favorite restaurants. The one that is top on my list within the hotel is Gonzalez Y Gonzalez. Location/Atmosphere Gonzalez Y Gonzalez is located on the first floor of New York New York Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas.
It is located in the section of the casino where all of the other restaurants and cafes are. It is definitely a cute area because walking to the eating areas. The setting is brownstone tiles on the floor surrounded by street lights and trees to make it appear to be as if you are walking down the streets of Greenwich Village. Inside the restaurant you have the option of sitting at a table or booth. The high ceilings make the area seem larger and more open.
Strings of different colored lights are hanging from wall to wall, and on the walls are large mural paintings of tequila bottles, or the Dos Equis/Corona logos. Cacti are placed randomly around the restaurant and the floors and chairs are multi-colored. With the Mexican music playing on the stereo, you get the feel that you are in an authentic Mexican restaurant enjoying your meal. Menu Gonzalez Y Gonzalez had some of the best Mexican food I have had in awhile.
From appetizers to drinks to entrees, everything was served in large portions and http://slotoff.com/ full of flavor and spices. Here are a few items from each section on the menu… Appetizers — Shrimp Ceviche Steak Nachos Taquitos Mini Chimis Gonzalez Combination Sampler Our ultimate favorite appetizer was the Shrimp Jalapenos. It was large shrimp stuffed with Jalapenos and topped with Mexican cheese served with salsa and a cheese sauce, a kick of heat with a tasty flavor.
Soup/Salads — Grilled chicken tortilla soup Grilled shrimp and Jicama salad Taco Salad Gaucho Steak Salad Tacos — Red chile shrimp tacos Carnitas Tacos Grilled Fish Tacos Entrees — Chicken Tamales Blue Corn Chicken Chimichanga Fajita Burrito Grande My two favorite entrees that I ordered were the Chipotle Grilled Halibut served with vegetables and rice and the Avocado Skillet Ribeye which was served with cilantro lime potatoes and vegetables.
We had to eat here 2 times, we loved it so much. They were both excellent and more than I could eat. The 2 friends that I went with were addicted to the enchiladas and burritos. Drinks Being a Mexican restaurant you know that they offer some great Mexican beers and Margaritas (with endless options of the brands of tequila). For the margaritas you had a lot of choices like the Baja Breeze, Gonzalez Rita, or the Pucker-Up.
They came in all different sizes. They also had a bar that served a variety of alcohol and beer. Prices Prices were average for the strip in Las Vegas. Meals ranged anywhere from $8-$30. Drinks were more expensive ranging from $10-$40, but that is normal for Vegas also. Only on Freemont Street, tobacco shops, or as you are gambling do you see cheap drinks prices. Overall Experience I highly recommend this restaurant for people of all ages that enjoy a great Mexican style meal.
They offered their guests an amzing variety of choices for a Vegas reasonable price. Portions were large, so consider splitting the meal with a friend if you are not that hungry. The only con- Some of the wait staff is limited on speaking English, so they are kind of hard to understand at times, but our order was correct when we received it! Plus if you are a MLife players club member you can receive a great discount eating here. So make sure you use your player’s club card.
I would definitely stop here again the next time that I am in Las Vegas.
